I've spent the morning covering the hoops in fabric. This will mean I can anchor everything firmly together- although I have quite a bit of fiddling around to do first to get all the hoops in exactly the right position- and a bit of research to understand exactly how to balance it to stick out more at the back. A circular 1850s crinoline would have been much more simple!
